picket [ˈpikit] noun
1 (any one of) a number of people employed at a factory etc who are on strike and who try to persuade workers not to go to work there, not to deliver goods there etc: The men set up a picket to stop lorries/trucks getting into the factory; (also adjective)a picket line.
